The Solfeggio (sound healing) frequencies are believed to have many psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical healing benefits. According to Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz listening to these frequencies can create positive change in our life and 528 Hz is the actually healing frequency and this is the exact sound frequency used by genetic scientists to repair broken DNA!
The 6 Solfeggio frequencies are:
Ut (396Hz), Re (417 Hz), Mi (528 Hz), Fa (639 Hz), So (741 Hz), La (852 Hz)
These original sound frequencies were used in Ancient Gregorian Chants, such as the great hymn to St. John the Baptist, along with others that church authorities say were lost centuries ago. The chants and their special tones were believed to impart tremendous spiritual blessings when sung in harmony during religious masses. These powerful frequencies were rediscovered by Dr. Joseph Puleo as described in the book Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse by Dr. Leonard Horowitz.
In ancient times the different major musical notes which are the “do-re-mi-fa-so-la” notes had different frequencies compared to the ones we use today, and it is because our tuning method is different than it was in those days. The ancient tuning practices used the method called “Just intonation”, and we use the “Twelve-Tone Equal Temperament” tuning method. (Regardless of ones individual beliefs, as each ancient note has a different tuning from the conventional musical scale, those tones can provide a new stimulus to the mind and physical system.)
According to some opinions listening to contemporary music composed according to A=440 Hz “Twelve-Tone Equal Temperament” create boxed thinking… whether it’s true or not I don’t know, but if we listen to those music that were created in the old days according to the “Just intonation” method, we can listen to them only with our “Twelve-Tone Equal Temperament” system in our present times so all the benefits of those ancient songs created according to the Just intonation method is lost if we play them on our instruments since they are calibrated according to our current “Twelve-Tone Equal Temperament” system. So shall we stop creating and express ourselves with our currently available instruments, and shall we not listen to any music at all, if we will get boxed thinking because of the new calibration? … I think contemporary musicians can also come up with great works which means that even if they are trapped in a “box” they can still let their fantasia leave grounds, which is in reality not the sign of the boxed thinking mind. Since music can help us to be creative and can help us relax or entertain ourselves I think we should risk not leaving it out from our life, but I would advise that we should select the songs carefully since many times they have negative and violent lyrics which can lower our frequency levels in general.
Whether the healing benefits of these frequencies are true or not I cannot testify, but at least listening to these sounds can make you more focused and they can also reduce disturbing voices that are in your surroundings. You can download (the high quality 5 minutes long mono wav versions of) these frequencies free of charge from my website, but please note that the size of these files are around 25MB each! (You can download from my site the 6 major solfeggio frequencies + the 174 Hz, 285 Hz and 963 Hz as well.)
Additionally you have to know that since we can produce sounds with our own vocal cord and if we have a guitar tuner that is capable of showing every frequency (e.g.: from 20Hz-20.000Hz), we can practice to actually sing these frequencies (without downloading the files). It is not easy to remain in the selected frequency, but I think with a little practice it is possible for everyone. It can happen though (in theory) that if you start singing according to the “just intonation” scale and you never listen to contemporary music it might be a possibility that later you will find every music composed according to the “Twelve-Tone Equal Temperament” system out of tune!
When you sing these frequencies you can sing normally which means while you exhale, but you can sing while you inhale as well (thus the sounds will be more continuous). I think singing can bring the same result or even better results than just listening to them, because the sound would come from us and thus our vocal cord would create direct vibration in our body. Naturally if we don’t have a tuner we can “sing” the frequencies while listening to them. If you choose to listen to them in general listen only 1 frequency at a time and don’t combine them. (Free guitar tuners with the ability to show also the frequencies you can download free to your smart phone as an app or to your computer from certain websites (if the app comes with an add don’t be connected to the Net while using them, thus you will avoid annoying adds, or have a software that filter out these adds)). Additionally please note that there is a Hz value difference between our current system and the old system. (So in our current system Do (better to say C) can be 262 Hz (which is the middle C) but in the ancient system Do was 396 Hz, thus it was a higher tone. In our current system the “G” sound (392 Hz) is almost the same frequency as the ancient Do.)
An other interesting fact regarding sound vibrations and singing is that it is said that cats can heal themselves while they purr… -so if it is true maybe we could introduce these humming exercises in our daily practice to heal ourselves especially if nothing we’ve tried helped… In reality I did not experiment with singing these frequencies and I only listened to these frequencies a few times, but as an idea of singing them while listening to them maybe something that is worth considering.
The six base Solfeggio frequencies are (with their possible healing effect):
396 Hz = Ut =Do -Red- Liberating Guilt and Fear
417 Hz = Re -Orange- Resolving Past Traumas & Facilitating Change
528 Hz = Mi -Gold- Transformation and Miracles (DNA repair)(Love frequency)
639 Hz = Fa -Green- Connecting and Realationships
741 Hz = So -Blue- Awakening Intuition
852 Hz = La -Indigo- Returning to spiritual order
(The color codes are from Glenn Harrold & Ali Calderwood’s Solfeggio chart.)
According to other sites there are actually 12 Solfeggio healing frequencies, and the six additional are:
63 Hz, 174 Hz, 285 Hz,
963 Hz, 1074 Hz, 1185 Hz
These additional frequencies are also said to have healing benefits but I could not find any information about the healing effect regarding the 63 Hz, 1074 Hz, 1185 Hz frequencies.
063 Hz – No information available
174 Hz – Pain Reducer
285 Hz – Influence Energy Fields
963 Hz – Awaken
1074 Hz – No information available
1185 Hz – No information available
To get to these additional frequencies a mathematical pattern was followed. They increased or decreased the frequencies by 111 Hz from the start and end side of the original scale. What common in these 12 frequencies are that if we add the constitutive numbers of these numbers together we get to the 3,6,9, which are according to articles these are the root vibrational numbers. So:
NAME = FREQUENCY à NUMEROLOGICAL VALUE
UT (ut queant laxis) = 396 Hz à 3+9+6=18, à 1+8 = 9
RE (resonare fibris) = 417 Hz à 4+1+7=12, à 1+2 = 3
MI (mira gestorum) = 528 Hz à 5+2+8=15, à 1+5 = 6
FA (famuli tuorum) = 639 Hz à 6+3+9=18, à 1+8 = 9
SO (solve polluti) = 741 Hz à 7+4+1=12, à 1+2 = 3
LA (labii reatum) = 852 Hz à 8+5+2=15, à 1+5 = 6
